Iron is an essential dietary mineral that contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, a protein found in red blood cells. Increased non-haem iron absorption can be enhanced by lactic acid production from lactic acid bacteria, as well as effects of the lactic acid forming bacteria which may enhance digestion and tolerance within the digestive tract.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION

Haemolactin
Contains two bioavailable forms of iron combined with methylated forms of vitamin B12 and folate as well as vitamin C, associated with iron's absorption. Some people may experience gastric discomfort or constipation with less well absorbed forms. The addition of beneficial lactic acid forming bacteria Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactococcus lactis may support low iron bioavailability.
